Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies any results. This website does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When someone sends an email, we retain the message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive certain technical details when a page loads:
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Page-view times, pages visited, and time spent on them
- The device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device type
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files placed on a device. They help show, in aggregate, which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics providers assist with that measurement. A visitor can block cookies through browser settings, although doing so may change how some site features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing and correcting technical problems
- Operating the site and maintaining reasonable page speed
- Routing a search request to the selected partner service
- Measuring which guides visitors use and where improvements may be needed
- Displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Morgan County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its guides explain how to request information from the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, Utah District Court or Morgan County Justice Court, Utah BCI, Utah Department of Corrections, and the Sex, Kidnap, and Child Abuse Offender Registry. This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal record files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes shown on this site. A partner's own privacy policy, not this policy, governs information submitted through its tool. Each partner determines its retention and disclosure practices, which are beyond our control. Review those terms before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, Utah Courts Xchange, Utah BCI, the Utah Department of Corrections, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That tracking occurs through their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be available to:
- Analytics vendors that measure site traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query submitted through their tool
- Advertising networks serving ads on these pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal order compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information collected through this site. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary by residence and by the kind of record involved. In Utah, the Government Records Access and Management Act, including Utah Code §§ 63G-2-201 and 63G-2-202, addresses access to government-held records, while Utah Code § 53-29-404 governs publication and misuse of registry information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request deletion of personal data we hold
- Ask what personal information we maintain about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised. An updated version will be posted here and will show its new effective date.
